Written by  ELFREDAH KEVIN Every October 11 we celebrate the girl child,  we advocate for her right,  we place lots of call-to-actions, but sit and think how many of our call-to-actions have yielded desired result. Communities are still practicing Feminine  Genital Mutilation, Girls are still giving out for marriage at a younger age in some part of Africa, Female children are abused on a daily basis, they are restricted from school, rape , given more preferences to the male child. Some homes today are broken as a result of no male child. Go to the court,  so many cases involving the girl child are pending still awaiting trial, some have lingered for more than 5 years. Justice delayed is justice denied. The  most painful is that,  Education is a human Right, yet, girls are restricted from quality education. The group who came from different Niger Delta states,  protested from Niger Delta Development Commission to the Rivers State Government House, carrying different placards, lamenting the environmental degradation of the Niger Delta for Decades, and the unemployment of the Niger Delta youth. NSCDC ARRESTED 132 SUSPECTS AND 170 DRUMS OF VANDALIZED PRODUCT IN 2018

Woke Kevin The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) says,  it has arrested not fewer than 132 suspects, impounded 15 vehicle, 36 loaded trucks, 2 vessels, 4 barges, 170 drums conveying adulterated vandalized product. Elfredah Kevin   Some youth in Rivers State have staged a protest, against the Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), NSIMA EKERE The youth under the aegis of Rivers Ethnic Youths Leaders Council have called for immediate sack of the managing Director of NDDC, due to several allegations levelled against him. BLACK CHRISTMAS FOR RESIDENTS OF PORT HARCOURT AS PETROL TANKER FELL KILLING 3PERSONS AT SPOT.

Written by ELFREDAH KEVIN As the world celebrate Christmas, the people of Rivers State have had a bad moment during this celebration, as a petrol tanker fell along, Rumuola axis of Port Harcourt, burning 3 persons beyond recognition. TheGlobewindows gathered that, the petrol tanker fell burning  3 persons beyond recognition, many injured and properties worth millions of Naira destroyed. The residents and shop owners expressed sadness over the incident, blaming the fire service for slow respond, adding that lots of properties and lives have been lost.   Meanwhile, report reaching TheGlobewindows says, two more persons among the five persons rushed  to the hospital for treatment, have been confirmed dead, making a total number of 5 death recorded. In the meantime, the remaining survival are calling on government and well meaning Nigerians to assist them for better treatment.

BLACK CHRISTMAS FOR ACCRA MARKET AS FIRE GUTTED GOODS WORTH MILLIONS

Published by Elfredah Kevin   Yesterday was a black Christmas for some traders of Makola Market in Accra, Ghana. Fire  gutted some shops with general goods for sale up in flames on Christmas day. The fire is said to have started around 10:30 am and it took personnel from the Fire Service several hours to quench it. It is unclear yet what may have caused the fire. Eyewitnesses who were looking forward to an exciting Christmas sales have been left shattered. An eye witness said, they saw a thick cloud of smoke billowing from one of the shops upstairs and they had to call the fire service. One of the witnesses also said it took about 40 minutes before the personnel from the Fire Service who was stationed just right within the market to come to their aid. Another claimed he had to personally ride an okada to the offices of the Fire Service before they were able to respond. MEXICAN GOVERNOR AND HER SENATOR HUSBAND DIES IN HELICOPTER CRASH

The aircraft carrying Puebla Governor MARTHA ERIKA ALONSO  and Senator  RAFAEL MORENO VALLE  came down shortly after it took off. The two pilots were killed. Reports say a third passenger also died. Officials say the helicopter may have suffered an unspecified failure.  Meanwhile, an investigation has been opened. Mrs. AlONSO, 45, had been sworn in on 14 December as Puebla's first female governor, after hotly contested polls. Mr MORENO, 50, had served as Puebla's governor between 2011 and 2017. UN EXPERTS CALLS FOR INVESTIGATION INTO MIGRANT GIRL'S DEATH

"Access to justice for her relatives should be granted, including but not limited to having legal representation in the proceedings in a language they understand well," he said. A close source in the area confirmed that the shooting took place at Obuah Odual Local Government Area of Rivers State killing at least four persons. According our source, the chieftain of the All Progressive Congress who doubles as the Coordinator of TONYE COLE Volunteers Group in Ward nine in the area was shot sporadically  in burial ground in Adada community in Oduah  Local Government Area, killing at least four persons including the APC chieftain, while one sustained serious bullet injury. In the meantime, while the Rivers State police command is yet to confirm the recent killing, one of the victims who survived the gun wound has been receiving treatment in an unclosed hospital.

Last month, a Court of Appeal sitting in Benin City, Edo State, had ruled against Osanebi over allegations of certificate forgery. Dr. Muhammed Lecky, the INEC National Commissioner, South-South, issued the Certificate of Return withdrawn from the Deputy Speaker to Emeka Ozegbe, as the elected member of the Delta State House of Assembly representing Ndokwa East constituency. In April 2018, a Delta High Court sitting in Kwale sacked Osanebi over allegations that the NECO certificate he submitted to (INEC) for his election in 2015 was forged. It is against this background, security agency deem it very important to wade in to maintain peaceful fair and credible elections. JAMB STOPS CYBER CAFES CANDIDATE REGISTRATION AS SALES OF FORMS COMMENCES JANUARY 10

The Registrar, Prof. ISHAQ OLOYEDE,  disclose this during a meeting with proprietors of Computer Based Test (CBT) centres at the University of Lagos. Prof. ISHAQ OLOYEDE warned that the board would not tolerate any JAMB-related materials in all the centres, especially question papers, as most often turned out to be fake, thereby duping innocent candidates, stressing that JAMB would also not hesitate to blacklist any centre that attempted to undermine the integrity of its examination through infractions.
